Pintscher serves as creative chair for Zurich’s Tonhalle Orchestra and artist-in-residence at the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and he is finishing a nine-year term as the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra’s artist-in-association.

Pintscher will have two works premiered this season: Nur, a concerto for piano and ensemble performed by Daniel Barenboim and the Boulez Ensemble conducted by the composer, and a new work for baritone, chorus, and orchestra performed by Dietrich Henschel and Zurich’s Tonhalle Orchestra led by Kent Nagano. This season Mr. Equally known as one of today’s foremost composers, Mr. ConductorMatthias Pintscher is music director of Ensemble intercontemporain, the contemporary music ensemble founded by Pierre Boulez. The sound world Stravinsky created is a masterful combination of inspiration from his musical “godfathers” (Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov) and utterly original, daring inventions, such as shifting accents, repeated patterns of melodies and rhythms, and bold orchestral colors.Īmong the many familiar memorable passages - most of them known from one of the suites the composer created - are the lustrous dance of the Firebird herself, the menacing dance of Kastchei and his band of evil-doers, and the Lullaby and Finale, a spectacular, shimmering climax proclaiming that the prince and princess will live happily ever after. The ballet’s exotic scenario overflows with the stuff of legends: a prince, 13 princesses, the Firebird’s magic feather, and the enchanted garden of the evil ogre Kastchei and his malevolent minions. The score’s vibrant colors glitter and pulse with fantastic effects, from primitive to luminous, created by a “wastefully large orchestra” (so said Stravinsky later). IGOR STRAVINSKY (1882–1971)The Firebird (1910)The Firebird, Stravinsky’s first ballet, catapulted the young composer to spectacular international fame. Recommended for anyone who wants Ravel to greet the morning.
SOFTWARE RAVEL COMPLETE ORCHESTRAL WORKS RAR RAR
Software Ravel Complete Orchestral Works Rar 1 For its freshness and surges of passion, I liked Bringuier's approach far more often than I felt disappointed. Excellent recorded sound, heard as a download, is a major asset. His bravura technique is unarguable, and every attack is forceful. violinist Ray Chen is soloist in the orchestrated version of 'Tzigane'. It's exciting, brash, and a real eye-opener. Bringuier turns 'Daphnis' into a dramatized tone poem, without a nod to the dance.

He gets the Zurich Tonhalle to sound as French as anyone could wish. What all of this tells me is that Bringuier is out to make a distinctive impression. There's a danceable lilt to the 'Valses nobles et sentimentales', minus the dreamy sway that so easily turns the rhythm vague and shapeless. We get a sharply etched 'Ma mere l'oye' that feels more dramatic and story-like than any account I recall recently.
